WHY I BECAME A HEALTH COACH. For over a decade, food and I were not friends. No matter what I ate, I always found myself with a giant food baby, feeling uncomfortable, and wondering why the eff eating like an adult had to be so hard. After discovering food sensitivities were at play, I tried to pretend they didn’t exist so I could enjoy the food I craved (hello cheesecake!). It’s my body! I do what I want!
IT WAS TIME FOR A CHANGE! In the back of my mind, I knew what I should be eating; I knew which foods made me feel good and the ones that didn’t. And I knew that my digestive discomfort was my body begging me to clean it up with better nutrition choices. But for some reason, I couldn’t get on board with any kind of restriction. It felt unfair and un-fun. The last thing I wanted was to experience FOMO as my friends enjoyed pizza. I felt stuck.
FINDING THE HAPPY MEDIUM. It was time to balance my body’s requirements AND start enjoying life. I made some serious modifications so I could feel like a normal human being again.I experimented with fresh local foods and began making crazy delicious, healthy, meals at home. I also started to deal with that bitchy inner voice in my head telling me I was disgusting. Because let’s get real, she was the BIGGER issue. As I started shifting my internal conversation, the unthinkable happened: everything got easier. I obsessed over food less and less. I slowly stopped berating myself for indulging. Best of all, I stopped feeling like sh*t.
STARTING MY JOURNEY. I discovered the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, a Health Coach training program that allowed me to better understand the impact of our choices and the power of our minds. I had the opportunity to learn from some of the most inspiring people in the world of holistic nutrition, medicine, lifestyle, and spirituality. Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Christiane Northrup, Arianna Huffington, and Deepak Chopra, were among the many.
WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU. I have coached dozens of women in transforming their relationship with food and their bodies. I will customize a roadmap for you.
